The mokoro is the prime transportation means for the Bayei, Hambukusu, Lozi and Basubia tribes. Therefore it is an ideal to use a mokoro to provide close-up and personal game viewing opportunities on the river, allowing you to get very close to the game in their natural habitats without disturbing them. The mokoro poler will lead you to various favourite hideaways of many game species.
Game viewing and birding is excellent in this area of the Moremi Game Reserve.
A mokoro is still used by the tribes living in the Okavango Delta to deliver materials such as thatching reeds for huts, reeds for strengthening the walls and poles which support the entire house. The versatility of the mokoro enables them to be used for hunting, collecting fire wood, fishing and for visiting friends and relatives in neighbouring villages
